Merch and Destroy: An exhibit-sized love letter to touring rock bands

Artist, musician and filmmaker Clyde Petersen previewed his upcoming exhibition of stunning cardboard artwork at Bellevue Arts Museum.

A new exhibit by a Seattle-based artist and musician provides a unique look at the lives of punk musicians on the road. Merch and Destroy features stunning musical instruments and other pieces crafted out of cardboard and other materials.

The artist, Clyde Petersen, shared more about the inspiration for the exhibition and why he chose cardboard as his medium. Clyde also chatted about his current project, filming a documentary about Earth, an iconic drone-metal band from Olympia.

Merch and Destroy opens November 9, 2018, at Bellevue Arts Museum and runs through April 14, 2019.
