Make your own customized version of hot sauce at home

Hot Sauce is one of the best ways to boost the flavors of whatever you're eating.

Devin Rector from Fireflower Sauce demonstrates how to create homemade red hot sauce so you can perfectly spice up your food.

Hot Sauce Recipe

  • 9 large dried guajillo peppers (deseeded and destemed)
  • 8 oz water
  • 8 oz distilled vinegar
  • 1tbsp salt
  • 1tsp white pepper
  • 2 black garlic cloves (smashed or dried and ground)
  • 1/4 large Walla Walla sweet onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves raw garlic (minced)

Rehydrate the peppers in water until fully soaked and the water is absorbed. Add vinegar, onion, raw garlic, to rehydrated peppers and blend until smooth. Add mixture to cast iron pot and simmer for 20 minutes, mixture should thicken. Add black garlic and spices and blend again until mixture is uniform and there are no large pieces.

Use on tacos, bloody Mary's, as a dip for chips, or however your heart desires!
