SEATTLE — Spring cleaning can be an ordeal, so we've gathered some tips to make the process go faster. Logan Taylor, owner of Dazzle Cleaning Company, has nifty hacks that will get your house spotless in no time. Dazzle Cleaning is a company that tidies up as well as gives back. They give $5 from each cleaning to nonprofit organizations. Lately, they've been donating to a health clinic in Cameroon and St. Francis House, a homeless shelter in King County. Taylor joins New Day Northwest to show us how to make an organic cleaning solution, show us how to clean a glass shower, and your stainless steel appliances.
Here are their tips and recipes to make spring cleaning a breeze:
Tips:
- Choose one closet or drawer to organize at a time. Decide when you're going to organize them. You can do one a week or power through several in a day!
- Decide on items to donate as you are cleaning and get rid of everything that you don't regularly use. If you haven't touched it in a year, get rid of it, UNLESS it holds very special significance to you.
- Sprinkle baking soda on mattresses, let it sit, then vacuum up the baking soda. Rotate and flip mattresses regularly.
- Use a dryer sheet to quickly and effectively dust baseboards
- Use a microfiber cloth and a little baby oil to polish stainless steel appliances. Wipe with the grain for best results.
Use DIY Dazzle All-Purpose Cleaner (recipe below) on the following:
- Inside the freezer and the fridge (bonus: go under and behind the fridge)
- Inside the oven
