SEATTLE — Terry Hollimon, a former University of Washington running back and co-host of The Barbershop Show, with former Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant, joined guest host Michael King to chat about highlights from the first week of Seahawks training camp at the VMAC in Renton.
Here are the players they spotlighted:
- Safety Earl Thomas, who is not at camp. He's asking for a contract extension or a trade.
- Tackle Duane Brown, who just signed a 3 year, $36.5 million contract extension
- Linebacker Joshua Perry, who announced he is retiring from football because of too many concussions. The 24-year-old has had six concussions (that have been diagnosed).
- Linebacker Shaquem Griffin, who is having a stellar first week at camp, and showing his skill at forcing fumbles and beautifully intercepting a pass by quarterback Russell Wilson. Shaquem made headlines for being the first amputee player to be drafted in the NFL. His brother Shaquill is a Seahawks cornerback.
- Wide receiver Doug Baldwin, who will miss the start of the season because of a knee injury.
Seahawks training camp runs through August 29th.
Pre-season action begins on August 9th, when the Seahawks take on the Indianapolis Colts at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
