Grammy-nominated Seattle Symphony performs

2019 nominations include Best Orchestral Performance, Best Contemporary Classical Composition and Best Classical Instrumental Solo.

The Seattle Symphony earned more Grammy nominations than any other American orchestra in the 2019 classical category!

The symphony's president and CEO Krishna Thiagarajan as well as musician's Brittany Breeden, Sayaka Kokubo and Nathan Chan joined New Day today to share more about the team.

Music Director Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony earned two nominations for their work on James Ehnes's recording of Aaron Jay Kernis’s Violin Concerto. Upcoming Music Director Thomas Dausgaard earned an additional nomination for their live recording of Nielsen Symphonies 3 & 4.

Overall, The Seattle Symphony has earned three Grammys, 26 Grammy nominations, and two Emmy awards over its 92-year history. The symphony was also recently named Gramaphone's 2018 Orchestra of the Year.
