Jovino Santos Neto is a three-time Latin Grammy nominee, whose music is inspired by his Brazilian roots. His ensembles include samba, choro, baião, xote, forró, marcha and many other styles. He mixes traditional jazz with new harmonies. Jovino has toured the world, and his compositions have been performed by the Seattle Symphony and NDR Big Band in Hamburg. He was also the recipient of a Golden Ear Award as the best jazz instrumentalist in the Pacific Northwest in 2004. Now, he teaches piano and composition at Cornish College of the Arts and works with other musical groups.
