SEATTLE — This time of year, you can find tons of beauty in the flower fields of Skagit Valley. But imagine having colorful blooms delivered to your doorstep year round, without even having to think about it.

Enter The Stemmery, a subscription service based in Seattle that does just that.

"A big factor with this is the convenience," said The Stemmery founder, Sarah Abare. "You don't have to find parking, you don't have to take a bus. However often you sign up for they're just going to show up, and they're going to be there for you."

The flowers are seasonal, so each bouquet will be different every time.

Abare has had a number of entrepreneurial jobs, but it was after making wedding bouquets for friends and family, that she discovered floral arranging could combine her love for being creative and connected to nature.

"I love flowers because they're different every time. Even when I have six arrangements that all use the same flowers all in the same day, I can still make each one different."

A bouquet right to your door step makes it convenient to enjoy the natural beauty of flowers.

For the most part, The Stemmery is a one-woman operation. Sarah goes to the local flower market to source her blooms, arranges them by hand, then makes deliveries to her subscribers in Puget Sound. During holiday rushes she gets a little help, but for now she's all about the hustle.

"I've probably emailed every restaurant in the city like do you need flowers?" she laughed.

Subscribers can choose from three different floral options. The Rainier Bouquet ($35), which are loose stems you arrange yourself. Cascadian Stems ($50), which is a standard size arrangement, or Olympic Blooms ($75) a grand display of artfully arranged flowers. Once you settle on the type of arrangement you want, you can choose whether you want it delivered weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. A subscription can be maintained for any length of time, and you can skip deliveries at no extra cost.

Abare says treating yourself to a floral subscription is a great way to take the time to appreciate beautiful moments in life.

"I think that there's always beauty to be found in the world even when we feel like there's a lot of stuff going wrong, and flowers are a great reminder of that."

The Stemmery delivers to Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland and Mercer Island. On Fridays, Abare also delivers to Shoreline, Edmonds, Lake Forest Park and Mountlake Terrace. She says if you aren't in those areas, drop her a line and if you're close enough, she'll see if she can make something work!
