SEATTLE — It's your cup of Joe in a bag of chocolate. Joe Chocolate Co. brings the best of both worlds together.
Founders Sam Tanner and Peter Keckemet used to sneak into their fraternity kitchen at the University of Washington to experiment with batches of chocolate mixed with espresso powder.
They knew they were onto something when it started to disappear.
"We'd give it to our friends and kind of our first ah-hah moment was when they were just stealing it from us," said Tanner.
The school project turned into a business. They now have five flavors: Salted Caramel, Honey Almond, Toasted Coconut, Roasted Cacao, and Frosted Peppermint for the Holidays.
Joe Chocolate Co. recently opened a factory and espresso bar in Pike Place Market. Located at 1606 Pike Place, Seattle WA, 98101, Joe Chocolate Co. is open every day from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
In addition to their buzzed chocolate, Joe Chocolate Co. serves beer and wine, fresh pastries, and ice cream sandwiches. Their happy hour is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
