SEATTLE — It's been a long road for distilleries in Washington state post-Prohibition. Unlike beer and wine, strict laws kept the liquor industry from taking off — but times have changed. There has been a distillery boom in recent years.
Founded in 2010, OOLA Distillery was one of the first to open in Washington and is now the second largest privately owned distillery in the state.
Located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, OOLA Distillery produces small batches of premium vodka, gin and whiskey. They do all of their mashing, fermenting, distilling and bottling onsite at their facility.
Their goal is to use the best local ingredients from grain to glass, and it appears to be working. OOLA Distillery recently took home 13 awards at the 2018 American Distilling Institute in Portland.
The tasting room is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
