Lake City, Wash. — Korochka Tavern is a small, cozy bar located in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood serving up craft cocktails alongside Eastern European snacks.

Owner's Lisa Malinovskaya and Karena Anderton opened the bar in 2016. The name Korochka is actually a nod to Lisa's childhood. It means "heel of the bread" and was her nickname growing up in Moscow.

The menu also reflects her upbringing. The pelmeni, or Russian dumplings, is a dish you'd find in any Russian home. You should also try the pickle plate. It includes an array of house-brined vegetable along with slices of dark rye and goat cheese.
