Each night, workers spend hours maintaining the snow features for the next day

SKYKOMISH, Wash. — Stevens Pass is one of the favorite destinations for skiers and snowboarders in Washington State.

With 10 ski lifts and over 37 trails, it is not a secret that a lot of work is done around the clock to move enough snow to create an ever-changing park experience, especially for grooming and terrain park crews.

CAT operators are an essential part of terrain park maintenance, build and groom in a safe and efficient manner in coordination with the mountain operations.

Park Builder, Brad Hendrickson says, "You know where the snow ends up, you know where the winds blow and that helps you construct the features."

Terrain Park Manager Mike Thomas says, "A lot of the stuff that we do is behind the scenes, 80% of the workload is done before and after the public."

Stevens Pass is looking pretty good right now with all the snow that's been dumping, but do check the pass conditions before you go.
