It may be cold, wet and wintry outside but inside the Volunteer Park Conservatory, you can expect warmth, wetness, and humidity.

As one gardener out it, it's like visiting the mountains of Maui.

Spring will arrive here well before it does in the rest of Seattle.

Gardeners spent the day taking down holiday displays in the Seasonal House and replacing them with colorful azaleas already in bloom.

Some fun events are planned in the upcoming weeks including a light show on January 18th and a Valentine's Eve celebration.

Admission is free through Feb 28th, thanks to a generous donation by a local family. In March the regular admission of $4 for Adults, $2 for Youth returns. Kids under 12 will always be free.
