From concerts to DIY wine blending, Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville is a top winery destination

More than 300,000 people from all over the world visit Chateau Ste. Michelle winery in Woodniville each year.

WOODINVILLE, Wash. — With 105 scenic wooded acres, more than 60 wines, and a brand new visitor's center, there is no doubt Chateau Ste. Michelle is the perfect setting for a day of wine tasting.

The new visitor's center is double the size of the original tasting room, and has some seriously cool features. There's a blending room where you can make your own bottle of wine (from the wine inside, to corking and labeling). And there are four private tasting salons.

While all the new experiences give even seasoned visitors a reason to come back, it's the winery's rich history that makes it what it is today. Established in 1934, Chateau Ste. Michelle is Washington state's founding winery. The Manor House, the former home of Seattle lumber baron Frederick Stimson, is even on the National Register of Historic Places.

And the experience goes beyond the wine (well, there's always wine involved at Chateau Ste. Michelle). Each summer, the outdoor amphitheater is home to their summer concert series. This year's lineup includes names like Jethro Tull, Sheryl Crow, ZZ Top, Ben Harper and Chris Isaak. You won't want to miss it!
