Four shows in the Seattle area at classic venues you can't miss

Empire of The Sun comes to Seattle with their tenth anniversary tour of their debut album, and many more artists to see this week - KEXP Music That Matters

SEATTLE — Three big concerts and an intimate show are happening this week, starting with Empire of The Sun on their celebration tour of the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Walking on a Dream.

Tues - Thurs, 6/18 - 6/20 at 9:00 PM - Empire of The Sun at The Showbox

Empire of The Sun is an Australian electronic music duo touring with new music before they begin recording in Japan for their unreleased fourth album. They play Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so you have three chances at The Showbox to be able to see this duo.

Thurs, 6/20 at 7:30 PM - Anderson Paak at WaMu Theater

Make It Better is Anderson Paak's recent single featuring soul singer Smokey Robinson. Paak's latest album, Ventura came out in April. He'll play WaMu theater on Thursday night at 7:30 PM.

Fri - Sat, 6/21 - 6/22 at 6:30 PM - Michael Franti & Spearhead at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery

Summertime brings outdoor music like Michael Franti & Spearhead at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville. This concert also includes performances by Ziggy Marley. The band released their 10th album, Stay Human, Vol. II, earlier this year.

Fri, 6/21 at 7:30 PM - Sera Cahoone at Fremont Abbey

Seattle's own Sera Cahoone will play Fremont Abbey on Friday, a much more intimate venue than the other shows going on this week. Sera Cahoone released The Flora String Sessions last year. Now a singer-songwriter, she is perhaps best known for her work as a drummer for the bands, Carissa's Wierd and Band of Horses.

As I sign off, I want to wish a very Happy 77th Birthday today to Sir Paul McCartney.
