SEATTLE — The Fairmont Olympic Hotel has undergone its annual transformation into something resembling Santa's workshop.
Local designers and corporate sponsors have provided more than 20 imaginatively decorated trees, which have been put up for sale to benefit Seattle Children's Autism Center and the hospital's Uncompensated Care Fund.
On the hotel's second floor, the Teddy Bear Suite, featuring more than 100 bears of every size, awaits a Thanksgiving Day opening. Families are welcome to tour the suite, free of charge, and see how the little stuffies have taken over their elegant surroundings.
The lower lobby is home to a life-sized, walk-through gingerbread house, created with more than 4,000 real gingerbread bricks and thousands of pieces of candy.
The trees will be on display until December 4. The Teddy Bear Suite and gingerbread house remain open to the public until December 26. Donations to support Seattle Children's are gladly accepted.
