Bothell, Wash. — Nike developed a running shoe for athletes with disabilities about three years ago and the line recently expanded to include kids' sizes. That meant the world to a boy from Bothell.
Ayden is a little person who always wanted to wear Nikes like other kids at school, but his feet just didn't fit in the traditional sizes.
Then, his grandma Deana Harris discovered the FlyEase Nikes. The back opens up with a zipper and Ayden's feet slid in just fine.
She posted a video on Facebook with a heartfelt message.
"It's the little things in life that we often take for granted. The longing of Ayden's 11 year old heart has been to wear Nike shoes just like everyone else at school." -Deana Harris
He was over the moon when he got them, and his grandma wants everyone to know they're available, in case they're the answer for someone else's wish!
Ayden and his grandma posted a follow-up video explaining how the sneakers work and showing off his excitement to wear them.
