SILVERDALE, Wash. — The Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale is using a viral social media campaign to help find forever homes for shelter dogs.

Volunteer Molly Clark helped developed the idea of a shelter break, which includes a walk on the beach, and a special trip to Starbucks.

"You know, they have no idea why they're there," said Clark. "One of the most important things is to let them be a dog again."

Every Tuesday, a different dog is pictured enjoying a cup of whipped cream from the Starbucks secret menu – also known as a “Puppuccino.” The photos are hashtagged #PuppuccinoPal and posted on Kitsap Humane Society's Instagram page.

Those silly photos went viral. The Instagram page for Kitsap Humane Society has over 12,000 followers. Other shelters have contacted Kitsap for advice about how to start their own Puppuccino Pals. But more importantly, these dogs are finding forever homes.

"All of them so far have been adopted," said Kimberly Cizek Allen from the Kitsap Humane Society.

A Puppuccino means second chances for so many shelter dogs and Clark never misses a shelter break.
