My first memory which brought me into consciousness: sitting in cold snow. Of course, it was a shock, I was in Florida. The experience of hurricanes, tornadoes and learning how to recover from destruction automatically followed. Now, weather is my business, and business is good.
I have studied and experienced weather across the United States with courses taken at University of West Florida, Tarkio College, North Seattle Community College, Colorado State and Mississippi State University. I’ve earned two bachelor degrees, with all the additional classwork, maybe, one day, I’ll complete a masters, too. I enjoy learning the details, and I get caught up in the details.
Prior to my return to KING 5 in 2019, I was a member of the crew that launched Al Jazeera America in New York. Before the move to Manhattan, I was Seattle’s first female Chief Meteorologist at KIRO 7. Opportunity has presented itself in multiple ways to be mentored by an exceptional weather community, from the Seattle National Weather Service, University of Washington; Atmospheric Science Department and many former television meteorologists over the course of 20 years. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the KING 5 weather team again.
I am a member and seal holder of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.
