Hope you're enjoying this summer-like weather because it's going to stick around for a while! A large ridge of high pressure is building in the eastern Pacific, and will edge towards the coast over the next few days. As such, temperatures will continue to climb. Many of us saw temps in the 80's today, and it will get even warmer early this week, with the potential of hitting 90 in some spots.
Those with air conditioners should think about breaking them out before we start the week. Temperatures will continue to climb through midweek. We're expecting upper 80's Monday, and near 90 for select cities Tuesday and Wednesday.
A weak system brushes by on Thursday bringing some marine-layer clouds and cooler temperatures (70's). There may also be some mountain showers developing by then. Most of us, however, will likely stay dry this week.
It appears another ridge strengthens over us by next weekend keeping the warmer than average and dry weather around.
