FAA clears Boeing 737 MAX 9 for delivery

The FAA certified the MAX 9 meets all required aviation regulations.

The Boeing 737 MAX 9 is now cleared for deliver. The FAA gave the new plane an 'amended type certificate.' That means MAX 9 can be delivered to Lion Air Group, the plane's first customer. Boeing says the final preps for delivery are underway and should be delivered in the next few weeks.

The certification means the plane meets all required aviation regulations for handling, systems and overall performance.
