Each week, The Morning Show's DJ John Richards from KEXP 90.3 FM makes recommendations to help us sort through the many incredible options for live music in Seattle's music scene.

This is KEXP's list of the Music that Matters for the week of 3/6.


  • WED 3/7 The Dears - Chop Suey - The Dears released their seventh studio album Times infinity Volume 2 last year. This show also features great local acts Tomo Nakayama and Silver Torches.
  • WED 3/7 They Might Be Giants - Neptune - This show is sold out, so to get a ticket you'll have to head to the secondary market. The Johns released their 20th studio album I Like Fun in January.
  • THURS 3/8 Barrett Martin - The Crocodile - His newly released album with the Barrett Martin Group is called Transcendence. You can also catch him at Easy Street Records on Wednesday.
  • THURS 3/8 Hibou - Neumos - Hibou's second album Something Familiar comes out on Friday.
  • FRI 3/9 Jason McCue - Washington Hall - Jason McCue is celebrating the release of his album Pangea.
  • FRI 3/9 Lorde - Key Arena- Somehow Lorde is just 21 years old and released her second album Melodrama last month. Run The Jewels is her opening act.
