The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM to 1 PM PST Saturday. A Coastal Flood Advisory has also been issued from 11 AM to 2 PM PST Sunday. * SOUTH WASHINGTON COAST TIDES...Total tide at Toke Point is forecast to be 11.2 feet Saturday (10 am to noon) and then 11.4 feet Sunday (11 am to 1 pm). * NORTH OREGON COAST TIDES...Total tide at Astoria will be 10.0 to 10.5 feet for the weekend highest tides. * IMPACTS...Overflow flooding for the South Washington coast is most likely to occur in low-lying areas near bays and sloughs, highways 6 and 101, the towns of Raymond and South Beach and lower reaches of coastal rivers. For the North Oregon coast, one of the more susceptible areas for flooding is along Fraser Road in Tillamook County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Advisory for Minor Tidal Overflow indicates that coastal and inland flooding of low lying areas is expected due to elevated river levels combined with high astronomical tides. Property damage can occur, but is usually localized. Low-lying roads may be closed due to high water. && $$

WAZ503-191100- /O.UPG.KSEW.CF.A.0001.190119T1100Z-190120T0100Z/ /O.NEW.KSEW.CF.Y.0002.190119T1100Z-190120T0100Z/ Western Whatcom County- 259 PM PST Fri Jan 18 2019 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 5 PM PST SATURDAY... The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 3 AM to 5 PM PST Saturday. The Coastal Flood Watch is no longer in effect. * COASTAL FLOODING...The combination of high astronomical tides, tidal anomalies due to a passing storm system, strong southwesterly winds, and waves may produce coastal flooding around the two high tides on Saturday. * SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...Sandy Point and Birch Bay. * TIMING...2-3 hours around the high tides on Saturday. * TIDE INFO...High tides at Cherry Point are about 5 AM PST Saturday and 2 PM PST Saturday. The predicted high tide about 5 AM is 9.6 ft above mean-low low water (MLLW), and the predicted high tide about 2 PM is 9.13 ft above MLLW. Both tides are expected to be between one half and one foot above the predicted tide table values due to low atmospheric pressure and wave action. * IMPACTS...Strong southwest winds over the Strait of Georgia will produce waves of 4 to 6 feet that will crash over seawalls and other protective barriers and potentially impact already damaged roadways around the high tides. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore. && $$
