I was out wondering the property at my apt. complex yesterday and was amazed at how quickly everything has begun to bloom. It seems like overnight there are new things to discover. I moved to Vancouver just a few months ago from Seattle. I lived in Seattle for over 40 years but I must say Vancouver is really beautiful.

I spied this tiny little nest up in the tree and I am assuming, since we have so many Hummingbirds, that it is indeed a hummer nest. It was made form lichen and what looked like spider web threads. I did some research on hummer nests and this nest fits the bill...here is hoping!! As I approached the back garden area I spied so many spider webs shimmering in the sun. The figure of the little girl sits peacefully in the back garden area near the large duck pond. I have named her the "Garden Guardian". Another beautiful Spring Day in Vancouver.

There were several of these Maple Bushes on the property. I was impressed with the intense colors...ranging from bright yellow to orange and red and even some green. The other two pictures are of one of several Magnolia Trees on the property. The buds are really strange and remind me of an alien creature invading earth!

This Camellia Tree has some of the biggest blossoms I have ever seen. Some are at least 5" across. They range from solid red to a dark pink tinged with white. As I was taking pictures, other tenants walked by and wanted to know what kind of tree it was.
They all commented on the size of the blooms.
