For Immediate Release: Poulsbo shop fire a total loss
3/16/2010

(Poulsbo, North Kitsap) Poulsbo Fire Department and North Kitsap Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of a fully engulfed shop fire this evening just after 9pm in the Finn Hill neighborhood, near Walmart. The shop belonged to a 43 year old man who said he had washed down his boat earlier in the day. He had a wood stove lit in the shop, as well as fans blowing, in an attempt to dry out the the boat. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Kitsap County Fire Marshal. Total damage estimates are unavailable at this time, but in addition to the boat, tools and welding equipment were stored inside the shop. The shop is a total loss. The man had his work dump truck stored near the shop and said "I'm just glad my truck didn't go."

The Man and his 40 year old wife were just leaving a theatre in Silverdale when they received a call from their 18 year old son that their shop was on fire. Drivers from Highway 3 could see the entire structure glowing and flames filling the night sky. There were no injuries and the home owners were insured.
