To Whom it May Concern,
Hi! My name is Nikki Hahn. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit more about my daughter, Taylor Nichole Allbritton . Taylor was born on November 28, 2007, with Gastroschisis. This means her bowel was on the outside of her stomach. The Doctor had to remove 90% of her small bowel, leaving her with Small Bowel Syndrome. Taylor now has only 10% of her small bowel, and gets no nutrition from eating by mouth, so she lives by IV fluids that are connected to her 24 hours a day. The medication she is on, TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition), is destroying her liver. She is now second on the nations list to get a transplant of her small bowel and liver.
Having Taylor has certainly been a blessing, but has also been extremely hard. We are in and out of the hospital whenever she gets a fever or an infection. We had to move from Oregon to Washington, away from our friends and family, to be closer to Seattle Children’s Hospital where she will, eventually, get the transplant she so desperately needs. I have not been able to work since having her, because I can't leave her with anyone due to her medical condition. It’s becoming more difficult to pay medical bills, and have money for gas, food and rent while waiting for her transplant. If there’s anything that you can do to help us, we would greatly appreciate it.
Donations can also be made at any US Bank branch under Taylor Nichole Allbritton.
Sincerely,
Nikki Hahn
