The "Deception Pass" picture was taken in the fall and was taken in three exposures to gather light from everywhere. Anyone can walk to this beach from the parking lot near the bridge.
The "Nimitz" picture was taken from Grand View Park in Everett, Wa at Sunset. The park sits above the Navy Base and is a great place to watch sunsets.
