87 year-old Axl takes graffiti head-on by painting life sized murals to cover the eye sores in North Tacoma. Business owners have battled graffiti (often more than once per week in the same area) with no end in sight. Good samaritan Axl volunteered to cover up the mess with his own art work and has already helped several building owners in the North End. He is currently working on the back of a Subway building on 6th Avenue between Cedar and Junett. He is one of a few elderly gentlemen in the area who have volunteered time and materials to keep our neighborhoods safe and clean. Pictures (before and after) available by Carter Peckham.
