The Crabtree Nature Center is in Barrington Hills in North western Illinois. I have long desired to see this area after a snowfall, today i had my chance. The sunlight was very shy today, I did get one that excelled over all the others. Crabtree is part of the Cook County Forest Preserve District. It's beautifully maintained and each turn in the trail is a new photographic experience. Because some of the areas can be remote, it's a prudent idea to go in groups of two or more, particularly in winter.
