This is the Carpentersville Dam on the Fox River in Northwest Illinois. The dam is quite old, dating back to the late 1800s. This site is becoming known for being able to sight eagles. The eagles and other water fowl come here and look for food, particularly when the river is open as it is in this photo. The snow was light, creating a winter scene that was too good to miss. The temperature was in the upper teens but the winds made it feel like the single digits. All in all, a nice day to be outdoors. I used an Olympus camera, model SZ-14. The exposure was 1/500th sec, f 3-3 ISO 80 with a resolution of 4288 X 3216.
