SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2012 - 6:00pm. The lighte will roll once again in downtown Centralia, WA. We are so excited for the 3rd Annual Lighted Tractor Parade! This event drew over 6,000 and this year promises to be even bigger.
The concept for this parade came about because of the Centralia Downtown Association's deep commitment to historic preservation and revitalization. The health of any city with a historic past should be the concern of all of its citizens.
The buildings in the historic district of downtown Centralia were built in an era of a vibrant economy. The city was an important economic center of Washington state and with the trains going through the city center we were able to export from our region millions of board feet of lumber, farming produced a source of food for many in Washington.
Our heritage of these industries created solid lifestyles for our citizens. We want to celebrate our heritage and give back to the next generation a sense of knowing where we came from. Family friendly events that allow a family a local source of entertainment are are important to everyone throughout the state. This parade fulfills that need. We hope you will support this event and look forward to it year after year.
