When crews arrived on scene they found an old farm house and large trees fully engulfed & the fire quickly spreading across tall grass to the nearby woods. Firefighters went to work extinguishing the perimeter of the fire. It took approximately 30 minutes to get the fire under control and a total of more than 6000 gallons of water was dumped on the the fire to completely extinguish the hot spots. Poulsbo Fire, Poulsbo Police, & North Kitsap Fire & Rescue, Navy Region NW all responded to the fire just after 3pm yesterday. The Kitsap Co Fire Marshal is on scene but the exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time. It appears that it may have been an abandoned house.
