On Saturday evening(7/7/12 shortly after 9pm)we spotted a bear taking a swim from our living room that has a view of the lake. Our home is in Snoqualmie on the private Echo Lake near I-90 and Highway 18. A relative working on his property near our home had found a gas can that had been in his truck was on the ground upon returning to his truck earlier in the day. The gas can found on the ground had new puncture marks that he suspected came from a bear. He let us know what happened so we were on the look out for a bear but we were still surprised when we saw the bear go for a swim later that same day. We have seen bears on our property before but this was the first time we saw one go for a swim. Our granddaughters saw the bear on a nearby road the next day when they were leaving our home.
