Forest Service Open House Discusses I-90 Trails and Trailhead Projects
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is hosting a public meeting to discuss changes to recreation areas off Interstate 90 June 20, 5:30-7:15 p.m. at the Douglass Truth Library, 2300 Yesler Way, Seattle, Wash., 98122.
Forest Service employees from the Snoqualmie Ranger District will present plans, gather comments and answer questions about a proposal to modify trails and trailheads at Denny Creek and Franklin Falls, exit 52 on Interstate 90.
Some of the changes proposed include: closing the parking area adjacent to the Denny Creek trailhead; gating the road to that parking area at the bridge over the South Fork Snoqualmie River; adding three new segments of accessible trail at Franklin Falls, Denny Creek campground and the Old Wagon Road; and adding three new parking areas northeast of the Denny Creek Road.
