Since we in the northwest were sky challenged Sunday with our cloud cover, I decided to head south to try getting some photos of the May 20th, 2012 solar eclipse, attached are a couple of the hundreds I got. (some I made into a composite).

Sequence of solar eclipse (May 20th) - overlay-ed on downtown Reno, taken just hours apart (the eclipse and later the downtown shot). From left to right - moon starts initial touch, bottom right of the sun.. then continues it's coverage at about 45 degrees towards the upper left.. then it's done. The entire sequence was about 2 hours. Taken from a high hill overlooking the city of Reno Navada.

Using D300s with 200-400mm f/4 VR + 1.4 teleconverter. ** Due to lack of planning I resorted to using a welders goggle lens for a sun filter.
