This photo is for those of you who think, "The "pit bull" breed, are nothing more than blood thirsty beasts, who should be banned from public parks. I would never let my children near one of those dangerous creatures!".
I present to you, the epitome of the "Pit Bull". Mercury, who is eagerly awaiting her turn to go down the slide, she is nine years old. Nova, sits patiently next to Manny (6) Josiah(5), and Charlise (2). This is their favorite part of the week, when all the kids come over to play with them on the play set. Do any of these kids look the slightest bit worried, terrified, or like they should be? These dogs are the baby sitter breed, and they have the stamina to play just as long as the kids do. When these two aren't playing on the slide with the kids, they can be found comforting injured chickens. Yes. That is right. We also have two chickens on our property and not too long ago, one of those chickens had suffered a broken leg. For days, the chicken slept with both dogs, curled up around her, in their bed, keeping her safe and warm.
So please, before anyone thinks about banning an entire breed, which is actually multiple breeds lumped together out of ignorance, from anywhere, think about these two dogs.
