It's not unusual to see the very small Goldfinch Washington birds fly around in my back yard and sometimes coming on my deck. But what was strange is this time they were spending a little more time than normal. I then noticed they had two or three twigs in there mouths and would jump to my potted plant and jump down without them. I then seen them repeat this over, and over for the next seven days or so. Each day the amount of twigs increased to about 10 twigs. It was so cute to watch as the twigs looked heavier than them. They worked in a team of two to 4 birds at a time. After a week I didn't see them on my deck anymore and decided to check out the potted plant. I was amazed to see that they made a nest in my big potted plant I call Charlie. The nest has a perfectly shaped hole in the shape of an egg. The egg shaped hole is very deep probably a inch or so. It's amazing to see mother nature in action. I'm looking forward to seeing the little baby Goldfinch's flying around..
