Bill Gates is dedicated to education and has helped schools across the United States and throughout the world. Does he know that a beloved school not even 50 miles south of his home is under threat of closure? Cedar Valley Elementary in Covington is a great place. It has terrific teachers, a great support staff and kids who absolutely love going there. However, the Kent School District wants to close it. Cedar Valley may not be an affluent school, but we are a proud school. The school offers many wonderful opportunities to its students, including, but not limited to, the Century 21 after school tutoring program, Art is Smart art club, Salmon In Schools program, Bring Up Grades(B.U.G) incentive program, Kindergarten Readiness Camp, Cheetah Reader reading program, Math Minutes incentive program, Buddy Backpack food program and KidsReach summer camp program.
