Hey Everyone, the Kent School District school, Cedar Valley, has been put on the top of the list to be shut down. I know most are unfamiliar with this school, but for my family and friends, this is a huge deal. I have an 8 year old Autistic brother named Anthony, and because of Cedar Valley, with all the hard work and care and support, he has leapfrogged through school and no one can tell he is even autistic anymore. This school has brought light and hope to my family. When Anthony was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old, we were devastated, and we thought that he could never be able to go as far as others, well we were right, he went further. He is in the 2nd grade in Mrs. Fontaine's class and this is his sixth year of school. He did special ed pre-k twice and S.E. kindergarten once, and then he made it into regular kindergarten and first and second. He is always excited to go to school and he is always telling everyone he comes to contact with about school and how much he loves it. He needs this school as well as all of us because they have helped so much and make him so happy. As a school and a community we are fighting to keep his school around. This school has helped him so much, and it needs to thrive on. Please sign the petition to keep Cedar Valley open for all who need it. http://www.facebook.com/SaveCedarValley and sign the petition at http://savecedarvalley.weebly.com/ Thank You!
