About the song:
Nita Jaye wrote this song entitled, "Nine Eleven (We Will Remember You)" in 2001 in the days following September 11th, empathizing with those overwhelmed in grief and feeling compelled to share a message of hope and bring consolation to the mourning nation. She was inspired and stated it came together very quickly. The song was shared with family, friends, and educators in a small rural town in Washington state. The following year, it was performed live at a public high school on September 11th along with colleagues (teachers
whom were also musicians) providing accompaniment on guitar and bass as a means to commemorate the tragic event that changed the nation.
Each year, the song circulated in small settings, occasionally performed on-the-spot. This year, Nita recorded the song in studio for a more finished product, and with the intent of commemorating the tenth year since 9/11, sharing this message of hope and remembrance to those who were lost and the ones left behind.
About the songwriter/singer:
Nita Jaye has always had a passion for the Arts and writing music. While still in High school, she won state competitions in music composition and vocals, and even had some recording studio time with a small select group from her 100-plus member teen choir. She pursued her degree in Communication Arts with a focus in visual/graphics communication and commercial art. After discovering the joy of seeing a student's face light up at the moment of understanding, she paralleled a path in education.
Nita has impacted the lives of thousands of students, sharing her passion in many visual and performing arts, including the fine arts, sculpting, literature, photography, music, and theater. She has directed children and youth choirs as well as theater/stage performances often using works she had written. Over the years, Nita has composed over a hundred songs -- mostly sung in small groups and with her church community. The artist concedes that raising kids, working, ongoing community involvement, and life-responsibilities keep her busy, but she would enjoy spending more time in spiritual moments that provide inspiration to create more music. This element of her life became a leisure time hobby, but her face lights up as she states, "I love to sing."
Currently, Nita is the Creative Director/Executive Administrator of an educational consulting firm located in Federal Way. She and her husband are licensed foster parents who just adopted one of their kids, adding to the 4 boys they have raised in the great Northwest.
