On a perfect sunny, but-not-too-hot day, my husband and I ventured a return trip to Mount Fremont Lookout out of Sunrise, Mt. Rainier National Park. The trail goes up first to Frozen Lake, small but beautiful with it's mini iceburgs and torquoise water. From there the trail heads up the wall of rock debris with this awesome view of Mt. Rainier and its meadow of flowers over your left shoulder. We were fortunate to match up a good hiking day with this burst of flowers. To top the trip, as we returned to the trailhead, this marmot came out of hiding to pose for a portrait.
