I have lived in my house for 5 years now and originally bought the house because of the great backyard potential. Instead of spending time building a patio, I got to hire contractors to fix my dining room, bathroom, and art room after pipes froze while I was working out of town. The water caused the plaster ceiling to collapse and the water remediation company gutted the rooms. Unfortunately, the contractors were not good and a lot of work remains to be redone and finished. Getting a new patio and improved backyard would be great, especially since I have to continue spending money to fix the interior to complete the water damage repair.
