An opportunity is presented for teachers (K-12) in all school districts in the Greater Seattle area, offered by Cultural Exploration of Greater China Foundation (CE).
CE is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated promoting Chinese cultural and language through education by offering cultural learning opportunities to schools and other institutions alike.
CE is pleased to announce that through our successful fund raising and generous donations from supporters and local businesses, the Cultural Exploration of Greater China Foundation (CE) is able to sponsor four teachers from the greater Seattle area to explore Chinese culture by visiting China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for two weeks this summer. The deadline for accepting applications is February 28, 2011.
In addition to guided tours of historical landmarks, this program includes many opportunities to meet Chinese school teachers, educators, parents and students. As noted by many past participants, these informal interactions with Chinese people allowed them to gain a better understanding of modern China and Chinese people - a perspective that cannot be provided by any textbook. We hope this experience will bring a new dimension to school curriculums and enrich lessons for any China-related subjects. Our objective is to impart a broad understanding of the people and the culture of China. It is applicable for teachers of all grade levels (K-12). We encourage teachers teaching subjects with components related to the understanding of Greater China to apply. Since 2000, we have sent over 30 teachers on the trip and each was rewarded with a life changing experience. Through your help, we hope we can find more candidates who would benefit from our program.
