Our State-of-the-Art Weather Center
The Northwest First Alert Weather Center combines the forces of KING, NWCN and the unique weather information systems they utilize to provide the best forecasting tool in the Northwest.
The Northwest First Alert Weather Center is located on the top floor of KING Broadcasting's Dexter Avenue studios, and is occupied by both KING 5 and NWCN meteorologists.
The spacious 1,265 square foot weather center is in one large room with a mirrored look. Both KING and NWCN occupy half of the room with their own anchor desk. Each desk has several computers, providing up-to-the-second weather information for the on-air forecaster. By having two weather centers sharing one massive area, we are able to take advantage of all the experience and forecasting technology of both KING and NWCN.

We own our own Doppler radar, whereas most other stations rely on non-live Doppler forecasts from the National Weather Service.
You will often see our meteorologists delivering their forecasts from outside on the roof garden. The roof garden is located out the back door of the weather center.
