When will fall color be best in the mountains?
A check of all available mountain web cams confirm what drivers have seen-very little fall color, even at higher elevations. A check with rangers at the North Cascades National Park confirms color is slow to change-mainly spotty change in vine maples. They're estimating the best color is still probably two to possibly three weeks away, especially in the very popular Cascade Loop.
