What's the difference between Flood Warnings, Watches, Statements & Advisories?
A Flood Watch means there's a threat of flooding that could pose a serious threat to life or property, but isn't imminent. A Flood Warning means flooding is occuring which poses a serious threat to life or property. A Flood statement is meant to highlight flooding which doesn't pose a threat to life or property. A Flood advisory is issued when flooding is expected to be inconvenient but not pose a major threat. An example of an advisory is when urban or small stream flooding is expected, often due to backed up storm drains.
