We've heard this is likely to be the strongest La Nina since 1955-what happened that winter?
I spoke with Washington state Climatologist Dr. Nick Bond; he did some research, and discovered we had 12" more rain than usual, temperatures ran about 4 degrees cooler than average, and that snowfall at SEATAC totalled 24"; about double the average seasonal snowfall. Now there's no guarantee we'll duplicate those conditions...but it does argue for careful preparation!
