It seems Olympia is one of the warmest cities in the Puget Sound region during the day, and one of the coldest at night-why?

There are several reasons, but a key reason is that Olympia is located at the south end of Puget Sound....and that weather observations are taken at the land locked Olympia airport...farther from the Sound than most other sizable airports. Because ground changes temperature faster than water...inland areas experience bigger 'swings' in temperature; including, of course, Olympia.
