Has there been any update on La Nina for this winter?
Yes. A new update shows La Nina strengthening. Keep in mind La Nina typically 'loads the dice' toward a cooler, wetter than average winter. It's likely to reach peak strength between now and January, then weaken. It's not expected to remain beyond early to mid spring. The usual influence of La Nina is to give us wetter than average conditions during the late autumn and early winter months, then cooler than average conditions during the later winter months. The usual tendency toward increased snowfall is in the mountains. There's a slight tendency near sea level...but not as definite as in the mountains. That does bode well for skiing, snowboarding...and the water supply next year.
