Updated Monday 7AM
The 4th of July weekend wrapped up with another warm day on Sunday with 81 at Sea-Tac and 77 in Olympia, but changes could be felt later in the day. In fact, the coast and parts of southwestern Washington spent Sunday under the clouds with cool temperatures as our marine air started to make its way inland.
Big changes today, as a large upper level low pressure center is settling in over the Pacific Northwest and should stay over us through midweek. This low will bring us clouds and much cooler temperatures along with a few showers. Amounts from the showers should be very light. A few thundershowers are possible today and tonight, mainly along the coast, the mountains, and eastern Washington. It will be a little breezy at times over Puget Sound today.
By later Wednesday the upper low should move off to the east as high pressure builds along the coast. This should put us into a pattern of morning clouds and afternoon sun to the end the week with temperatures warming into the upper 60s to low 70s.
Onshore winds will weaken a little over the weekend and especially early next week for fewer morning clouds and more afternoon sun with highs pushing into the low to mid 70s.
