Families who are homeless can go to one of five provider locations during the day, including the South Sound Outreach Services, and get vouchers for motel rooms. Tacoma Rescue Mission provides the vouchers for families at night. All of the vouchers are provided from a fund administered by Associated Ministries.

In Puyallup and the East Pierce County area, there are two options. For singles who are homeless, there is a program called "Freezing Nights" where several churches take turns each evening housing those that are trying to get out of the weather. They must go to the Puyallup Police Dept. and will be taken from there to the hosting church. The other program, "Open Hearths Ministry" helps families by giving them vouchers for motels.
